This year's competition was co-organized by University College London and American University in Bulgaria, Blagoevgrad. It took place in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, from the 24th to the 30th of July, 2010. The competition was for students completing their first, second, third or fourth year of university education and will consist of 2 Sessions of 5 hours each. Problems will be from the fields of Algebra, Analysis (Real and Complex), Geometry and Combinatorics. Over the previous seventeen competitions we have had students from over one hundred and seventy universities from forty three countries.

This was a residential competition and a condition of participation was that all participating students stay in the Hall of Residence provided by the organisers.

Selection of the Problems

The problems were chosen at the Meeting of the Jury from those received in advance by the President of the Jury, Professor John Jayne.

Evaluation

The students' work was evaluated by Team Leaders and other Professors and Assistant Professors using criteria provided by the Jury.

Groups

Although this is an individual event, the Universities traditionally divide their participants into groups of four each. The number of students in the teams is, however, not fixed. The professor who accompanies the students is expected to be a member of the Jury.
