About the IMC

International Mathematics Competition for University Students

A global university mathematics competition combining demanding problem solving with academic exchange, friendship and an international community.

Dedicated to mathematics since 1994

IMC is designed for university students in the early years of their studies. The competition consists of challenging problems in Algebra, Analysis, Geometry and Combinatorics and is conducted in English.

Alongside the competition itself, IMC gives students and university teams the opportunity to meet mathematicians from different countries, compare approaches and build relationships that continue beyond the event.

Bridging the world through mathematics

A shared language across countries and generations

From its earliest competitions, IMC has brought together students and academics from universities around the world. The archive preserves that continuity: each year adds new problems, new achievements and a new international cohort to the story of the competition.
